When a patient presents with severe bone loss, traditional dentistry attempts to rebuild the missing bone. Our approach leverages 3D guided dental technology to utilize the patient’s existing, stable cranial bone structures. This specialized technique is known as Remote Anchorage.

Remote Anchorage eliminates the need for invasive bone augmentations by anchoring specialized implants directly into dense, stable bones surrounding the jaw. These basal and cranial bones do not deteriorate over time, providing a rock-solid foundation for a full-mouth dental restoration.

To completely restore her upper jaw without a single bone graft, we designed a highly strategic, 8-implant configuration:

• 2 Zygomatic Implants: These specialized, longer implants anchor securely into the cheekbones (zygoma).

The Advantage: Zygomatic dental implants completely bypass missing jawbone, providing instant, massive structural stability for full-arch teeth.

• 2 Pterygoid Implants: These are placed into the pterygoid process bone located at the very back of the upper jaw.

The Advantage: Pterygoid implants allow for stable back molars for chewing without needing complex, painful sinus lift surgeries.

• 2 Vomer Implants: These anchor into the dense midline bone at the base of the nasal cavity (the vomer bone).

The Advantage: Vomer implants maximize stability in the central facial skeleton, securing the front teeth completely.

• 2 Regular Implants: Positioned in the remaining areas of the jaw where her native bone was still dense enough.

The Advantage: They work in perfect synergy with the specialized implants to distribute biting forces evenly across the entire arch.
